So what is your interpretation of this passage?
This is what I have been looking for people to understand for a few years now.

Well this last generation won't excell. Deuteronomy chapter 32:28. For they are nation void of counsel. Many people wont seek God. It's the occult or secular humanism or prosperity doctrine or magazine or motivation speakers or charmers.
Jeremiah chapter 4:22. For My people is foolish, they have not known Me: they are SOTTISH children, and they have none understanding.
The word SOTTISH in Celtic means = stupid. Some people don't care about God. They fill their minds with junk. Drugs or alcohol fry thier brains. Or they seek hirelings to sugar coat Gods word. And think Jesus will bless and protect them. Thier spirtualty polluted and bankrupt.
Proverbs 13:16. Every prudent man deals with knowledge: But a fool lays open his folly. Like engaging in gossip and slander. Or bearing false witness. Seeking counsel from psychic. Running to mischief.
13:20. He that walks with the wise men shall be wise: But a companion of fools shall be destroyed. Those who refuse to repent and conform to God's standard, will have spot in sheol. It's holding place for the spirtualty dead or wicked.
14:33 Wisdom rests in the heart of him that has understanding: But that which is in the midst of fools is made known.
Success is obedience to God. Obtaining wisdom and knowledge of Gods word. The world thinks it's state of mind. Psychiatric and psychology comes from heathen far east. Nepal and India to start. Hosea chapter 13:1. Warns about Ephraim going after the east wind. Get the picture. The dude taking in $200,000 year or more, measures wealth as success. Its heathen. Prosperity doctrine is contrary to sound doctrine. East wind is of opposition to God's word. Heathen think success is state of mind.
Proverbs 16:23. The heart of the wise teach his mouth, and adds learning to his lips. Spirtual growth is the key. To excell in knowledge and wisdom of God's word. The fool out of greed has no time for God and won't repent. Accumulates million dollars. Money can't buy your way into kingdom of God.
A fool has two doctor degrees. Is the superintendent of ivy league university. But has no time for God and won't repent.
But a poor woman spends her time studying the bible and produces much fruit for God. She helped plant seeds to lost souls headed for hell.
Who really had Success??.
The wise poor woman found the narrow gate to heaven.
And the Fool's went through wide gate to sheol. How does fool measure success. Peace.
