Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you in meekness and humility to pray for the victims of the Katrina disaster.

Dear Lord, may this disaster open to eyes, the ears and he hearts of all Americans to Your Power and your Mercy.

May those who hold earthly power humble themselves toward you, and seek your face. May they repent from their sins of greed, arrogance, and self-righteousness that have been exposed by this calamity.

And may all those who suffer turn to You for guidance in the days ahead, so that You may shepard them along the path that leads them to Your Son.

In Jesus precious Name, I pray.

I too pray for the victims of Katrina and now Rita. Sometimes, it is hard to accept the will of God but I know that "His will be done" and that it for a purpose.
