I needed to write this down before I forget.
Re long term partnerships like marriage..
whatever weaknesses and flaws you see in your partner, you come to realise that their awesome good points are indeed awesome. And in my case, my partner gets little credit from other people , for her hidden gem of a personality.
playful childish quality which appears now and then.
commonsense caution
loyalty
ability to listen and give the benefit of the doubt
an understated affection which is quite potent

my wife can be social if she wants to but is mainly a loner like myself. That's why she is a hidden gem. few people know what she is really like.
of course I am another hidden gem. No. "gem" is not a mis spelling of "germ"!!
