She always hated the 1980s track lighting in the den. She's been gone a few days to Iowa, to care for Kinley while Mom and Dad have coaching clinics. So I got a couple of LED panels, and got to work. It was more complicated than expected. Opened the package, and the wiring was aluminum. Turns out there are (expensive) wire nuts made for copper/aluminum joints, so I learned something. And a 2x4 was exactly where I didn't want it to be. But it's done.

Now, if I get the floor cleaned up and my tools off her desk and chair, and the ladder put away...

.
Yeah brother, all you have to do is fall off the ladder. Good job, but you do realize there are people out there that need the work, and not near our age???

Mrs Barbarian is going to be delighted with the alteration!

Good job, Barbarian!

That's not hard. I can do that without even trying.

Mrs. B. made me promise that when we replace the lights in the living room (tall ceiling) I will hire someone for the occasion. I'm no longer allowed on the roof, or in the attic. She seems to think I'm an old man.

Perhaps she is wrong but who will argue?

We aren't terribly good at acting our age, according to our children.
