I just found out that my father is going to be in town this month. My biological father.

I was over joyed when I discovered that the folks that raised me were not my parents. (God forgive me for that)

And I was heartbroken when I begin to pick up bits and pieces of what my biological mother has gone through. I know very little about my mom.

I know very little about him, and what I do know has not been good. I have met him ~ maybe a couple of times in my life. I remember trying to lead him to the Lord when I was three years old. He turned and walked away. The second time I met him, he was concerned that if people found out that he was my father, it could damage his career.

I have forgiven him. I am well versed in the Scriptures on forgiveness, and I have had a lot of practice with it. Now the Lord seems to be telling me to brace myself. He seems to be saying that this is going beyond forgiveness. Something in my spirit seems to be quickening concerning him. He has passed through town several times with out there ever being an encounter between us, but something about this time is different.

He is 80 years old. I'm 50.

I don't know how to ask you to pray.

Praise God for His sense of humor.

:P

Spell check tells me that there is only one "H" in AAAARRRRGH!!!

I once heard John Hagee say that the best prayer he ever said was ''Help''
That was it, for God knew what he needed and he needed only to ask God for help.
I will be praying that God will ''HELP'' you. :-)

Your story has touched me Gabby. I don't know how to pray in this instance either, but pray I will.

The Lord Bless you

Re: prayers for you & your Dad

When he comes into town, it is on 'business'.

He has come through town many times before without any contact between us. There just seems to be something different about it this time.

Pray for his salvation, if he has not already been saved. Also, if I have been lied to about him, or somehow 'misjudged' him, ask the Lord to reveal this to me.

God I pray that this situation works out for your glory and give peace and comfort to all involved, Amen

Just a follow up for my prayer warriors:

He was scheduled to be in town a week ago. There was no contact between us. I am perfectly fine with that.

Thanks so much for your prayers. Blessings.
