I can't sleep in. Too much of a machine instead of a man.

But I like all Saints Day.

In Hebrews it talks about how we have this great cloud of witnesses and then lists some of the heroes of the faith.

Do you have one?
Whose your favorite? ( other than Jesus)

WHY?

OK. I'll start.

My favorite is from the Old Testament: Caleb of the 12 spies.

This guy Caleb (I forget his birth name but Moses renamed him "little yappy dog")

Anyway he took the same punishment as the others who were fearful that God wouldn't help them take over Canaan. He spent forty years wandering in the desert but didn't die. When given his reward it was Kirith Arba...the home city of the Anakanites or "goliaths"... They also lived in Gath but it was smaller. Kirith Arba was like Vegas. And Caleb wiped out the giants living there.

Then, even though the city was his, he gave it away.
He gave that city to the Levites and it was named Hebron. Caleb did take a farm and to this day the valley is named after him.

That little old man killed all them giants. Just to do as God said. Then deserving of a reward gives it up.

And Caleb's father was an adopted Jew. He, himself was born either an Edomite or Canaanite.

" Who has a heart like Caleb?"

The first Judge of Israel was his cousin. Amazing man with an amazing attitude and an amazing heart...referred to by Moses as a little yappy dog.
