Almost Got into a Fight Today

After parking on the street, I noticed two "young men" moving toward my parked car. I stopped for just a moment just to see if they intended trouble of any kind. They noticed me noticing them, and from across the street threw a full liter soda bottle at me (landng near my feet). I asked what's up, and they said they didn't like the way I was looking at them. They were now on my side of the street. I said "Peace" and held up my fingers in a V-formation. The lead guy replies something to the effect of "I'll give you peace" and takes an aggressive step in my direction. In a final attempt to avoid an altercation, I change my fingers to a cross and say, "I'M A CHRISTIAN". He immediately broke off his attack and just said to keep moving.
