Am I a child of God or just a child?

I have a childish nature. Maturity and adult responsibility are things I never embraced fully.
But part of me thinks that part of me is a child anyway. I am a child pretending to be an adult.
We are all children aren't we ? And most Christians consider themselves children of God.
I know that once retired, we have less responsibility and start to act childishly ( or is that child like?). Perhaps worried about our elderly frail years. Who will look after us?
When I was a child I had childish thoughts and owned childish toys. When I became adult, I just continued in the same way.

A child does not hold down a job, or plan or worry about the future.

As a Christian I rejoice in being a child of God, and all its prevelidges.
