Did anybody see this or is the board dead ?

Would it replace my present Dell 64 bit with Windows 7 Pro, or are they suggesting I just toss $89 to have a spare computer? :shrug

I am not aware of MS changing the license requirements fro Windoze 7 and the computer is at least 7 ready and possibly 8 or better ready, as I read it. Windoze uses much more RAM than Ubuntu requires to run quickly. A Desktop seldom requires wifi and cards are neither expensive, on line, nor are they testy to install. If you install your copy of 7 you will need to overwrite it on your other machine and if or when MS notifies you you can explain your machine died and you needed to upgrade to the new one.

If the machine comes with Ubuntu 14.04, when you install Windoze 7 it will overwrite the Ubuntu but not to worry. A fresh copy of Ubuntu is available on the Ubuntu site, free. If the unit arrives without an Ubuntu DVD, go online to ubuntu.com and download a copy, it will be an Iso file. Double click on the file and it will be ready to write you a bootable, a.k.a. live DVD. Click burn, sit back and let it finish. Now install Windoze and when finished, insert the Ubuntu Disk, shut down the computer and reboot from the DVD and install Ubuntu alongside you windoze and you are the proud owner of a dual bootable computer. Not hard to do.

I would add another, larger, HDD but it looks to be a great deal. I give reconditioned computers to kids all the time.

The reason I did not comment much is because, as already stated, Jason is doing what Mr. Taylor already has been doing as a ministry for years now. And it is something that anyone can do with a used computer to load Linux on it. I guess his business is good for those too intimidated (or lazy) to load Linux themselves it at least gives them a taste for it.

I just wish some of the Microsofters just try it out. Keep their machines if there's some cherished programs that run only on them (perhaps as a stand-alone), but try a Linux computer for the higher security internet stuff. Maybe, just maybe they'd find that most of what they do on the computer the Linux handles just fine, without all the continual attitudes, of course. But I get the feeling that the response is "that's nice" and then it's business as usual and probably another thread about an MS program (again). Some of these MS problems are about as out-of-date as a rotary telephone and I never hear of them any longer in the last few years using Linux, but for some reason they rather struggle with those problems. :shrug

I for one read what is said here but i dont 'get it'.... when ya dont 'get it ' it can be scary....

Xfce 4.12 Might Make It For Fedora 22
some of us dont have a clue of what to ignore or when something can/should be ignored..
It's simple Reba, Install the system and when it wants to update, let it and otherwise, ignore. I do suggest for nongeeks, like Tim and I, that they pay attention the first time it wants to update and clik settings and set it to once a month or once a week cause it update several times a week otherwise.
