OMG LMAO, are you serious !?

that little thing a leg ? it looks to me like the already existing little claws that modern snakes have and use for mating,, its just one bone sticking out either side, and its supposed to be a remnant of a leg ?

just picture that a snake with only 2 legs in the back, half slither half walk, ? lol get real, stop being so desperate its embarrassing.

A closer look quite conclusively confirms that it is a leg, it has all the typical structures...these pictures were part of the article:

So far all i can think about is, because it had the DNA code for legs built in already and true snakes don't, tells me that this is simply a lizard that had some sirus birth defect or un beneficial mutation.

All that shows is how little scientists know about God's creation. ;-)

Wouldn't it be quite unlikely for a specimen with a serious (sic!) birth defect to grow to this size?

I've seen 2 headed turtles, so a small leg is no problem.

Lets see what birth defect can do.

"BENEFICIAL MUTATIONS " COMING YOUR WAY.

Soon we will evolve beyond the need for asses.

Two Heads better then 2 legs ?

Tell me why the "snake" has 2 rear legs but not 2 front ones ? that kind of puts the "snake" at a disadvantage.

I might have misunderstood you then...i thought you were referring to a species with legs of which the specimen is missing a set of legs. After all, otherwise one would have to wonder where the respective genes came from...

Your point? No one denies that there are deleterious mutations. Siamese twins are not even mutations, by the way.

if it were a birth defect, then that'd be so. But as a transitional it does not pose a problem. Snakes do just fine, after all - lizards who are missing a set of legs due to a birth defect however usually do not.
