how does one know when enough is enough?

how does one find assurance in salvation without becoming to legalistic?

what are your thoughts on this subject?

With salvation comes a relationship with God, and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. In the end we trust God, follow His leading and suspend the "logic" of the mind that says men cannot walk on water or raise the dead

Those who are lead by the Spirit of God, these are the sons (and daughters) of God - Romans 8

for me this is hard...

i hear evil voices, i have schizophrenia, and faith is hard to have

not because i don't believe, but because i cant concentrate and grasp the depth of the gospel well enough

please pray, thanks for commenting

Not sure i grasp your question Oats.

My assurance of salvation is in Him. Salvation belongs to the Lord.

That does make it harder, but His sheep know His voice. Just filter the voices and the one true one, is the one you follow

you have my prayers

Don't sell yourself short. Our salvation is not in knowledge it is what He has alredy done. The scriptures tell us we worship in Spirit and truth. He knows us better then we know yourselves al of us. We all have shortcomings Oats in different forms but we got 'em.

As you said " not because i dont believe" well..

Act 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

God has understanding and compassion for you Oats. Remember, we are only responsible to walk in the light we have. We only became transgressors after the law came down.

Dear Lord Jesus,
Please heal Oats' mind and bring him peace and discernment.
Amen.

Do we stop and contemplate each and ever thing we do to determine whether what we are about to do is right or wrong before we do it? No, not every time. There are things we just do right without having to think about it. These are the things that are a part of us.

I believe that as we continue to mature in our faith and be more and more like Jesus we die more and more to the law. As we die to the law, the law becomes a part of who we are and the more it becomes a part of us, the less we have to think about it. We just do right by instinct because of our faith.

Legalism on the other hand is putting the law ahead of our faith. Live with the faith of a child. Put faith ahead of the law and we will do right in response to our faith.

When we start a statement with, "You or I must obey....." then we are being legalistic. Start the same statement with, "You or I are faithful..." The latter sentence can be completed with, "therefore we are happy to obey."

AMEN To that,

Oats, my brother, I feel ya. I have a daughter who has schizophrenia, it's hard I know. The thing you need to know is God knows your heart Oats, and He is gonna bless your socks off ok!!!
Continue to ask God to allow you to hear His Spirit and when those voices are saying what you can not find in God's Word, then tell them voices to shut up, get thee behind me satan!!!!!

Oats you are saved because of your faith in Christ Jesus, because of His grace alone, not from the works you do or could or should do, but simply because He loves you and shed His blood for you. That is it.

I will certainly be praying for you bra and know this, God loves you JUST AS YOU ARE :peace
