i have an appointment with one next week at the hospital. It's taken 7 months. Problem is that when I went to opticians with eye problems (not been to one for 15 years due to fear of anything medical) they found nothing to suggest what was causing my eye problem.

Normal eye test found nothing wrong with the eyes. all healthy. They did pick up that eye pressure was high 28 left eye and 27 right eye so was refrerred for that and not visual disturbance I am suffering from. After my first eye test I went back as I have a constant flashing in my eyes, looks like a bug that moves accross my vision then dissapears when not moving my eyes, then when I move my eyes it comes back.

The second test was a dialated eye exam and nothing suggested a problem. Eye fine, retina fine, optic nerve fine and optic cup fine.

So next week the only thing I'm being checked for is high ocular tension.

Over here you are only seen for what you are referred for.

If you can help me please PM me. I'm not looking for a diagnosis but just want to know how to approach it and what to say.

A weird post I know but just need a bit of help and advice.

hello Wrg1405, dirtfarmer here

You stated the retina was fine, but my wife experienced similar symptoms and went to an eye surgeon and he found that she had a torn retina. He operated and repaired it and now no more bugs across her eye.

Hi, just thought I'd give you an update.

Seen the opthamologist today and had a barrage of tests.
I've been diagnosed with pigment dispersion syndrome with slight optic nerve damage in the left eye.
He can't tell whether it's due to glaucoma or the pigment syndrome. He wanted to start me on drops even though the pressure in the damaged eye now normal. So he's not sure if the eye pressure is regulating itself properly either.

After discussion we agreed for a follow up in 6 months time to reasses.
