are 'christianity and the bible' in fact the same as 'truth and life'?

ok now i dont want to go against the tos
i was just wondering what it is with them people why rely mainly onthe bible to proof there opinion or to show truth(according to the bible)

if the bible told you to jump into a river, would you say then it's right because the bible says so.

let me first tell a bit of my vieuw/opinion or reasoning.
that is for one that christianity' doesnt factually mean the bible'
that is for two that believe' isnt necesaraly religion'(as in i believe you...)

why i open up this thread is to ask how come christians go and discuss issues and take the bible as grounded truth without doubt or so. surely most do.

why cant someone make a statement or arguing/reasoning without the biblical verses to be quoted?

whenever there's a question it seems to me it is mostly answerred by the good book. in which i too do believe. i just think to go arguing agaisnt eachother with 'proving' your stand by the hand of the bible. while in fact it is that same bible another has got too.(i suppose)

let it not be misunderstood that if all things in the bible werent written down, still there would be lots left of all of it. just like all great names in history class. or just by the ongoing word spread across all over the world.

the bible did not get started by just words (if you believe) it got started by noting facts and a vieuw that can be bend so far by symbolisme that it will always be correct. you could maybe even lay the evolution down in the same order as the creation in the first two pages in genesis.

so why wouldnt you rely on your own wisdom and ways of explaining things instead of going agaisnt each other by using biblical quotes.

as a matter lots in the NT is so pure that it doesnt or didnt actually even need to be written down. such as "dont worrie for tomorrow" or "i will come" (back)

what i really whish is other peoples opinion on this
not even discussing it just how u feel about this.

ps i dont mean to go against the 'TOS'. but as you can see within what i said i believe that throwing verses at eachother from the bible might be improved by using your own wording'. and if you lay the bible aside surely mostly all in it will still be. surely...

so i answerred the thread title.
and the thing i remain to ask is just your opinion.

would you rather have a dictionary(with your believe(s))
or the bible to give a yes where in another book in that same bible a no can be given.

surely you want a mixture. but uhh:help

If I am understanding you correctly, you do believe the Bible is the Word of God, correct?

Yet wonder why people use their own interpetation of a particular verse by using scripture in order to defend their position, instead of using their own words.

Honestly, I see a mixture of people doing both. Sometimes I use scripture when someone is saying something that is complete opposite of what the Bible says.

But, to answer your question, I see people using both, maybe a few people only use scripture and maybe they don't really know what that scripture means to put it into their own words.

peace.
