I know this is hard to believe. Since Jesus said it, it has to be true. It is in the prayer he prayed for everyone who believes in him.
“I am not praying for these alone, but also for the future believers who will come to me because of the testimony of these. . . . so that the world will know you sent me and will understand that you love them as much as you love me.” (John 17:20,23)
This is the most amazing thing about God, that even though we don’t deserve it, he loves us anyway. And he loves you and me with such intensity that he sent Jesus to die for us. Because of that, I can see that his love for us is beyond our comprehension. But that was not the end of God’s expression of love for us, it is merely the beginning. There’s more good news.
“And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.” (John 17:26)
God provides his children with this kind of love. It is intense, and it vastly superior to natural human love. Jesus gives us something that is outside natural human experience. Natural human love runs out. It is weak, and it quits. God’s love is like this:
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.“ (1 Corinthians 13:4-8)
This is a description of the love God has for us. It is deep and it is strong. It is the same love that the Father has for Jesus. He shares it with you. As an excellent Father, God provides everything you need to equip you for this life.
He gives you the thing he requires you to have, which is the love of God, and he expects you to use it. He requires that you love him, and love your neighbor as yourself.
The above is not my words but something I try to hold dearly to.
Hey everyone
Our Father loves us as much as his one and only son. Remember that when you lay your head on your pillow tonight and thank him, if you don't feel it, speak it. It's the truth.
Tomorrow when you wake up do same.
His love for us is the same as it was yesterday, as it is today and as it will be tomorrow.
We are his sons and daughters. Never forget it, hold on to it.
