I'm not going to give my full story, but lets just say I've not been at my best. I want so badly to get back in church and have a strong relationship with God. I always say I'm going to go to church, but I never make it. I also can't find a church where I feel at home or comfortable. I straightened myself out two years ago, but I still didn't have God. I never prayed because I had no reason to. It's sad that I had to have a reason or time of desperation to talk to Him. Anyway, I figured a forum with other Christians would be a good place to start. I have two absolutely wonderful Christian friends, but sadly one is in the Army in Texas and the other moved a half hour away and work conflicts out time together. The only friends I have access to are the ones who drink, party, and generally don't care to know God. I was told that I need to remove those kinds of people from my life. I've been going to the gym every day to keep myself busy and away from trouble. I'm already in athletic shape, but it doesn't hurt to get bigger and more cut up.

And to top things off, my wife of three years tells me two weeks ago that she's no longer in love with me. We've been together for four years and have a three year old son. It's all very overwhelming. I'll post that bit later on in the appropriate section.

Well, that about sums it up for now. Glad to have found this place.

Welcome to the forums :waving

I am very glad that you are wanting to get back on track, we all have a past and the love of our Father is never failing. Though we may fail Him daily, He promises to always be faithful to us!

Welcome, I have also come back to him after several years away. God takes us down where we half to look to him for comfort. Just keep your eye on him.

Sorry about your troubles; going to a Bible based church is good; but reading privately from the Bible regularly is even more important. Maybe look at John's Gospel?

It's a pleasure to welcome you Fox. God meets us where we are, and will not fail you; His door is always open. Matthew 11:28 "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

Though you may feel you are estranged from God, He has never left you; He tells us in Hebrews 13:5, "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." He loved you enough to die for you before you came to Him; how do you think He cares for you now? Even in the things you believe you have failed, God was working that for your good to establish your walk with Him.

The perfect example to my thinking is the story of the prodigal son described in Luke 15:11-32. God has never rejected you and waits to reestablish to you everything you've set aside. Come on home to joy unspeakable and full of glory. Come and run the race for the best in Jesus' name, and it's good to have you with us Fox.
