Oh the baking at my house has yet to begin.
It will start on Wednesday and won't finish till probably Christmas Eve. (My niece usually wants to bake a batch of cookies with Uncle John)
But in the end it will likely be around 70 to 80 dozen cookies. Not little ones either. I get maybe 2 dozen from a batch of toll house cookies.
These are given everywhere to everyone. Home baked treats by a former Chef...yeah it doesn't suck to be a friend of mine at Christmas. My wife takes a platter to work and gets mobbed every year.
The first year she brought them they eyeballed her in a strange fashion...the following year they went and searched for her to ask when the cookies were coming.
We ain't playing games with cookies. Real butter, the best chocolate, homemade bourbon vanilla, the precision baking and the consistency of the size and shape of each and every cookie make them special. We put our heart and soul into every batch. Decorate them with extra dipping into chocolate (white and dark) and make non-chocolate as well with gingerbread, aggression, oatmeal, applesauce, butterscotch, and shortbread.
Yeah... people whine that I am making them fat...but I'm not exactly stuffing their mouths with them now am I? They do that of their own accord. A taste of a real hearth and home at the holidays...ain't nothing like it.
