Be Still and Know that I'am God. Ps. 46:10

I like the way the NASB translates it ...

Psalm 46 NASB
10 "Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."

The literal translation of those two words from the Hebrew -- phonetic spellings raw-faw reh-ooth' -- would be "relax your longing" or "relax your striving." Very powerful words.

I like this detailed description of know. It says to me that if we be still (cease striving) that the Lord will reveal Himself to us that we may know Him.

I love this verse, for the composed mindset it puts us in by knowing that God is present, our unshakable refuge, and our strength beyond our mortal striving, and the end of the matter is that He will be exalted. What else does the Bible say about this?
