I have a question for anyone willing. Some background information first.
Recently I found out via a social network that a friend of mine is getting a divorce. He and I have been friends for a long time and I've befriended his wife as well. But my issue is whether or not I have contributed to their getting seperated. A few months ago I spoke some critism to my friend's wife about her causes and issues that she supports. I said she favored her causes more then she favors holding on to her relationships and friendships. From recent discussions to both of them online, my friend assured me I did not harm their relationship, and she thanked me for my critism be cause it opened her eyes to her not valuing relationships and being ok with that. It left me with the impression that I might have intended to help her with retaining friendships and instead contributed to them having a divorce.
So my question is for those of you who have had any experience of God directing you, or on waiting for God to direct you. If any of you have some insight for having God direct you, and knowing it's from God, please let me know. I would like to become the salt of the earth, not poison with good intentions. I would like to be a light to help instead of an obstacle to stumble over. With a good heart and with study I can hopefully do alright. But if I don't have God directing me, my intents will only measure up like everything else does that we do. Any advise? How do you let God direct you?
