'We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves. Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up. For even Christ did not please himself but, as it is written: “The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me.” For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope. May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews on behalf of God’s truth, so that the promises made to the patriarchs might be confirmed and, moreover, that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy. As it is written: “Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles; I will sing the praises of your name.” Again, it says, “Rejoice, you Gentiles, with his people.” And again, “Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles; let all the peoples extol him.” And again, Isaiah says, “The Root of Jesse will spring up, one who will arise to rule over the nations; in him the Gentiles will hope.” May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. '
Romans 15:1-13

He is a God of Mercy! We are instructed to have the same mercy for others when they fail as He has on us. We are to bear with others and seek to forgive them and help to restore them. That is what Jesus does for us. We are to treat others the way that the Lord treats us. Jesus never sets out to hurt those who fail, especially those who repent and ask for His forgiveness. He already knows that we are prone to fail and that we need His help. Just like how Jesus reaches down into the pit to pull us out, we are help others in the same way. Jesus never kicks us when we are down. He never throws a snake or lion into the pit with us to devour us. He never pours gasoline into the pit and then toss a lit match into the pit with us to burn us alive. He never throws dirt over the pit to bury us. Besides, if we were to do any of those things to someone else, He would ensure that someone would do the same to us one day (for the measure we use to judge others, will be measured to us). Instead, He lovingly reaches down for us to grab onto His hand. Whenever we see someone struggle and can help them, we should help them. There is nothing like the love of Jesus!! For the times when we cannot do anything to help someone who is struggling or it just is not our place, we are to bear with them by being patient with them, gentle with them, and forgiving them.
Paul says to “Accept one another, then, as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. The reasoning behind what he said was that there was disunity between Jews and Gentiles. The same can be said today for those of differing denominations where there is disputing over matters that we are instructed in the previous chapter not to dispute over. This is reiterating the importance of accepting one another in differing opinions that are not against the indisputable matters of the Word of God (the 10 commandments and words of Jesus). We are not to argue and judge one another, but instead we are to love and accept one another in unity.
