Keep your pride in check. Consider putting others ahead of yourself. An attitude of service. Jesus gave us a terrific example when he washed the feet of his disciples.

I thought being humble was rather complicated. I thought it meant treating people with respect. I thought it meant putting others before me. I thought it meant caring for others. I thought it meant being obedient to the Lord. I thought it meant listening to what others had to say. I thought it meant letting the Lord have all the power. I thought it meant forsaking social climbing. I thought it meant forsaking arrogance.

Frankly, I thought the dictionary definition was somewhat lacking.

I think humility comes from having a true perspective of who we are in Christ and of realising that all we are that only by the Grace of God. All of our accomplishments and talents originate with Him. It is taking as much pride in what we do as in taking pride in the accomplishments of others.
