Saved.
Lost, not yet saved.
Lost, never will be saved.
We all fall into one of these categories. As we go through life we learn. At some point, we make our first contact with the thought that God exist. It may be presented to us by a believer, or by someone who tells us that "Some people believe in God, and this is what they think..." Maybe behind the scenes, someone has prayed for us to be saved.
We collect the thoughts. Maybe we begin to witness God at work in our life. Or we might enter into a personal crisis and wonder about good and evil, and if God is there, and if it is true that He answers prayer. May be there is a heaven and hell. Maybe the gospel is presented, but is negligent in showing the personal aspect in the need to repent.
Is there is a point when a person knows all that they need to know in order to make a decision about becoming a Christian? When someone reaches that point, how long do they stay there? If they continue to wait to make a decision, do they move further away from God? When someone has heard the gospel, and rejects it, does God give them a second chance? A third? Does it depend on the prayers of some saint asking God to save them?
What happens to someone who has heard the clear message of the gospel, and rejected it? Do they begin to change? Past the point of no return. Is there such a thing?
