Luke 11:27,28
As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd called out, "Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you." He replied, "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it."

Jesus could have put in a good word in this circumstance for His mother but He preferred not to; rather He chose to highlight the fact that He was more interested in calling them blessed “who were willing to hear the Word and obey it.†Jesus preferred not to accept praise from men, for He knew, praise for Him came from His father. Sometimes God does not show us the results of our work for Him, for we may get puffed up by the praise that people shower upon us.

There are many servants of God who lament that not much evidence is seen after they pray for others and not many testify about their efforts. That is only because God knows that in the early stages of our ministerial work, we may not be able to handle the praise showered on us and we may become puffed up, steal God’s glory and become targets for the devil. It’s not that people are not benefited by us praying for them, God just hides it so that we do not fall, because of the praise and adulation that ensues. But eventually the fruit of our work will be evident.
