Today Matt Walsh has a blog post (he's on FB too) about a 20+ year old young lady who got fired in one hour from a MW job after posting a lengthy letter claiming that her lot in life was the fault of the CEO of her employer.

I tell you what. If I could be that young again....problems would arise from me turning the world on its ear.
And I wouldn't be looking for everyone else to assist me with my problems in life.
But I sure could solve a few for some others.

Youth is so wasted on the young.

I don't understand (even though I did it too) how on one hand you demand everyone view you as an adult but still want help solving all your problems.

While serving your country .that was my case

If you work for people who don't pay a living wage, or treat employees like Kleenex, the answer is to leave. I know that for a lot of people, it's not easy. But it should become a priority.

It forever damages Yelp in my eyes, but she's out of a job, because she didn't think about the consequences of making it public.

Some jobs are provided as a public service. They never were designed to be something that provided a "living wage".

You think that Chick Fil a needs all those teens to fill orders? They provide the jobs because they can...not out of necessity.

Buying low and selling high is an absolute must to meet the demands of profitability.
CEO pay is often ridiculously high. But that's one of the rewards of creating jobs and commerce. I know that this goes against everything you believe in. (Democrats believe workers create jobs) but that's the way things have been for centuries. Abraham was a importer/exporter and created the spice route so famous in history. Daniel created the modern banking system in Babylon to make commerce even quicker. (And created Fiat money at the same time)

Even Jacob was given a job that was usually reserved for women and young children. (Shepherding goats)

One last point.

When crude oil was getting really expensive the technology of turning yellow coal into cleaner burning diesel fuel was further developed. (Usually referred to as "clean coal technology")

The process is as old as WWII. The Germans initiated it when we cut off their supply of fuel oil from the Ottoman Empire.

But in each case the need created the supply and technology. But every petroleum firm hires and fires currently dependant upon the price of oil. Many in Texas are leaving looking for work because of corporate cutbacks...and there aren't any jobs right now. Oil is cheap right now...our usage hasn't declined. Why the layoffs? Why did they hire them to begin with?

Horsefeathers. They hire those kids because they need the labor. If they didn't, they wouldn't be hiring them. And I say that, knowing a person who has a store; he's proud of the way they treat workers better than most, and the way that good workers can get college scholarships. But fact is, he hires as many as he needs to get the job done, and no more than that.

Buying low and selling high is an absolute must to meet the demands of profitability.

Check how Sam's Club is doing, relative to Costco. Sam's has lower labor costs. Costco is eating Sam's lunch.

Here's a secret I learned from Baskin-Robbins:
"There is hardly anything in the world that someone cannot make a little worse and sell a little cheaper, and the people who consider price alone are that person's lawful prey."

CEO pay is often ridiculously high.

Costco's CEO takes what is generally considered to be ridiculously low pay. And yet he's killing the competition. Turns out that treating workers well and paying them a decent wage will make you successful.

I know that this goes against everything you believe in; (republicans believe employers are doing workers a favor by hiring them) but it's always been like that.

Henry Ford was laughed at when he paid twice the going rate for labor. But he crushed the competition, who never figured out why that was such a brilliant move at the time.
