Changes To U.S. Tax Law

I think changes to our tax code are in order. In the spirit of furthering the discussion of tax reform I make two recommendations:

1. Change the tax due date from April 15 to the day before national elections.
2. Eliminate withholding and make taxes due in full in one payment.

It might make people think more clearly about taxes if the day before they vote they have to hand the government a lump sum of $15,000 or more.
