We have heard on the news about Cooper Harris the little boy who was left in the hot car by his dad and died.Do you think it is up to us to notice either an animal or a child alone in a car when the temperatures are in the 90's or 100's and call 911?

Yes ... for a kid i would try and open the door first thing then dial 911....

That is a good idea. The other day someone had left their dog in the car in the grocery store parking lot.It was a hot day.Someone had noticed the dog and told someone inside the grocery store. The dog was not doing well when they opened the door.

48 years ago kids did not have to be in a car seat.... Living in very small towns.... i was comfortable leaving a grandkid in the car windows down to run into the post office. .. small town ya parked in front of the place... I dont think i would be comfortable now days.... even in the small town

There's a bunch of indian casinos in my area and they're always finding kids and animals left in vehicles in the parking lot. And it's not just heat. A few years ago a small child was found frozen to death in a locked car. The child had spent over 12 hours in sub-zero temperatures while the dad was inside playing cards.
