I try hard to teach my kids the meaning of Christmas, but they still would rather see a picture of Santa than of Christ at Christmas.

Am I wrong about this? It seems that Christ has become to many, many people just a name like Easter Bunny or St. Valentine. My case in point is a Christmas movie review done by a girl (I do not know how old she is) who mentions Christ in passing and that he was a leper. Excuse me? She then goes on to read subcontext into the story of Rudolph that includes, among other things, the acceptance of homosexuality. Is this indicative of the current generation or just a result of more and more people putting the church on the back burner?

Here's a "Christmas Carol" I found on www.godhatesfags.com (The Westboro Baptist Church site):

You better watch out, get ready to cry

You better go hide, I’m telling you why

‘Cuz Santa Claus will take you to hell.

He is your favorite idol,

You worship at his feet,

But when you stand before your God

He won’t help you take the heat !!!

So get this fact straight: you’re feeling God’s hate,

Santa’s to blame for the economy’s fate,

And Santa Claus will take you to hell.

They are not a real church, they are actually a hate group. I'm sure knerd was posting tongue in cheek... right knerd???

People, lets concentrate on the subject of the first post before this thread meets an early demise. :gah

This is a real problem in the world today. There are so many misconceptions about Christianity and Christ and many elements surrounding this holiday that have NOTHING to with the birth of my SAVIOR. :verysad

I have a hard enough time getting my kids to stay awake long enough for midnight mass because all they want to do is go to sleep so Santa can come.

Santa/Satan, not in my home. Savior YES! My 3 1/2 year old granddaughter cenched it for me, when I attempted to introduce her to a santa, and she said I don't want nothing to do with that old man, he don't know me and I don't know him, and put up her little hand like talk to the hand! :lol
What can you say when a child slaps you up side the head with that? Out of the mouth of babes!

All she wanted for Christmass from Paw Paw and Gah Gah was an angel doll. So tomorrow we're going to the flea market and get her that 14" clear plastic tall angel 4/$10.00 that looks like an ice scrupture, and lights up inside for a night light for her, if he still has some. Praying he does! She has her heart set on an angel doll.
