Christ like figures or just salt of the earth decent people

I could probably identify at least one in every workplace I've been in. They stand out. Not for their work competence or confidence, but their "love" I guess. They listen and they care. They don't gossip. They encourage. They build up. They put others needs first.
I remember one particular girl/woman. She was about 30. An Indonesian but fluent in English. When I left that job, she made me feel I would be missed. That was nice because I don't think many others felt that way.
I miss people like that. I like to think they are Christ like figures even she was not a devout Christian at all. They make going to work a pleasure.

"I can trust this person" kind of respect. She always spoke carefully and kindly. Never tempted to complain about a colleague. I always felt I had at least one ally I could trust in the workplace. But maybe others felt the same way about her.
This is benchmark Christian behaviour imo.
We should aspire to it perhaps. If not at least appreciate it, when we can be on the receiving end.

If a non-Christian seems better than a Christian, your version of a Christian is skewed.
But it is a benchmark of Christ like behavior, toward the non-committed. ie, those not in opposition to God or His Son Jesus Christ.
Jesus was no goody-two-shoes to those who hated God.

Some people have found themselves and are content and happy in life so they pass on there positive attitudes towards others and are always kind and think of others and have time for others.

I recall a Jesus who called a spade a spade.
Liars! Hypocrites! Children of the devil!
All things Jesus called the posers.

There is a difference, however, in how we respond to those not yet espousing false doctrines.
We should be patient, welcoming, and serious with those we will try and show "the way" to.
Even if they reject it, our kindness and assuredness should resonate with them for the rest of their lives.
Make the good first impression, but don't get snow-balled by those who are NOT in Christ.

"More than" doesn't matter.
"Are" or "are not" will be the defining separator on the day of judgement.
A 90% holy man will inherit the same as the 40% holy man.
Neither will inherit what the 100% holy will receive...eternal life.

No one is 100% holy. We are all sinners, Christians are merely sinners who have been forgiven.

Look around you at the good that other people are doing, at the good that non Christians are doing.
As James says show me your faith, I by my good deed will show you my faith.

We are supposed to be loving a lost world as Jesus loves us.

You talk about 1 John 4:16 as though someone can have the spirit of love and yet be non-Christian. I think it is impossible to find anyone who is not receiving Jesus as being in a spirit of love. It is possible to find people who have not heard of the message of Jesus and yet God is abiding in them, and if they come to receive the message of Jesus in the spirit of love indeed they will remain in Him. There is however, a type of Christian that does not hold to the authentic faith, and has become cursed (Galatians 1:8). If a person who is abiding in love comes to hear the message of Jesus Christ by a spirit that is not actually the authentic Christian spirit (ie: an imposter, a liar, 1 John 2:22), of course they are going to not follow that one (John 10:5). The false Christian then, being carnal and not discerning the spiritual (1 Corinthians 2:14-15), will say that the person needs to be saved and thus condescend without just cause, invalidating their judgment and further condemning their self. If the only experience a non-believer has ever had of Christianity is of the false (unspiritual) Christians, they will develop a belief that Christianity and Jesus is what those ones have said it is: irrational judgmentalism, unjust, hypocritical, etc. As a result, it is hard for us to speak to them of Jesus without being obscured by the impression that they have already formed.

It also reminds me of Mark 9:38-40.
