1 John 2:1 says, "...My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous."
In Romans 8:34, assurance is given by four great facts that the child of God will never be condemned.
One of these is that Christ is even at the right hand of God.
Sometimes, a believer, not understanding the mystery of godliness, may wonder how Christ could be in the believer, wherever he is, as the believers only life, and still be representing him at the throne of God.
It is this idea that caused Paul to say, ultimately, that salvation is a mystery. When he wrote to Timothy, he said it is a mystery of godliness and has to do with Christ in us. The great mystery is that God, by His omnipotent power, is able to place Christ in every believer though Christ is still at the throne.
This is what constitutes the mystery. It is not something that human being can or should attempt to figure out but simply accept, for God is well able to make this work.
In view of the presence of Jesus as our advocate before the Father's throne, meeting every force of sin, even meeting the challenge of Satan who is there to accuse the brethren night and day before God, there can be no doubt remaining as to the realization of our union in Christ.
