1 John 2:1 says, "...My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous."
In Romans 8:34, assurance is given by four great facts that the child of God will never be condemned.
One of these is that Christ is even at the right hand of God.
Sometimes, a believer, not understanding the mystery of godliness, may wonder how Christ could be in the believer, wherever he is, as the believers only life, and still be representing him at the throne of God.
It is this idea that caused Paul to say, ultimately, that salvation is a mystery. When he wrote to Timothy, he said it is a mystery of godliness and has to do with Christ in us. The great mystery is that God, by His omnipotent power, is able to place Christ in every believer though Christ is still at the throne.
This is what constitutes the mystery. It is not something that human being can or should attempt to figure out but simply accept, for God is well able to make this work.
In view of the presence of Jesus as our advocate before the Father's throne, meeting every force of sin, even meeting the challenge of Satan who is there to accuse the brethren night and day before God, there can be no doubt remaining as to the realization of our union in Christ.

Do you not think that this is the Spirit of Christ in us? I personally don't see it as a mystery?

Jesus with God, and the Spirit in us.

I really wouldn't try to understand what isn't written, and Paul calls Christ in you a mystery.
Colossians 1:27,
27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory

Yea, it was/is to the unbelieving Jews. To us it's no mystery. :)

Soul man - many long years ago now, I came across this and I remembered it as it meant something to me - alas I cannot remember the author - it was short and simply titled 'Our Advocate' = I sinned and straight away the devil flew to the throne of Almighty God and there he did accuse me day and night and every word he spoke was true - he said this thing of clay and sod has sinned O God - is justice dead if not then send now this wretched sinner to his doom - then quickly rose up one sitting on God's right hand before whose glory the angels veiled their eyes and He spoke 'behold my hands, my side, my feet, one day I was made sin' so that he might be presented faultless at thy throne' - straight away the devil fled away for full well he knew he could not prevail against such love - twinc

I saved that to my files, wonderful poet and writer. I have to admit it brings tears to my eyes.
I guess I'm getting soft in my older age, not really when I think about what Jesus has done for us and the suffering I'm a softy.
My wife just had open heart surgery and the suffering is beyond what we would think a human could endure.
The heart it self is not the problem it's the muscle and ribs, the cut through the breast bone and use a machine to pull apart the rib cage. That's the suffering, it's been a couple weeks now and yesterday we were talking about the suffering of Jesus, we will never know that kind of suffering.
The scripture says "He became sin, that we might become the righteousness of God." That was His suffering, when He knew that His Father had forsaken Him, not looking at the sin He became. That is the cross, we think we know and we do know alot about the cross but it will be in that eternal time element before we begin to see and know what Jesus did for His Father, who is now our Father.
I'll preach the cross until my dieing day, it is where everything is found, grace, the salvation of the world, freedom, the revelation of Christ as life, even the HolySpirit comes through the cross, all due to what Jesus suffered at Galgotha's hill.
We squabble over a few written words, we are fools at times and should be glad for the age we live in because we probably wouldn't have made long in any other.

I hope you're doing well, my Grandfather had 38 major operations while pastoring a few churches. One operation he had was a pacemaker, he used to joke about when the battery ran low in 5 years he would make a watch fob out of the old one, lol. He understood things about healing and the Lord I hope maybe to see one day. He was one of the men I mentioned in the post I made a few days ago about the "healing revival" that swept our nation and the world. He was also involved in what was known as the "Latter Rain" movement, that came in the 50's into the 60's.
