Christian Camp

As a teen, one of my favorite things to do (christian related) is go to christian camp. I actually just got back from one today and had so much fun. It was only about 2 to 3 days and it's a camp for all of the Methodists in Washington. We stay at a college and meet in small groups and attend various workshops that we sign up for. The whole thing ends with a dance that lasts for 3 hours. Might sound weird to some people but I look forward to it every year.

Does anyone else have camps or events like that that they like going to?

I've been out of high school for two years, but there were two annual camps I went to when I was highschool aged.

The first one was an international (but mostly Australian and in my state) conference called KYCK, which was held for a weekend and had about 3,000 people per weekend (there were 3 weekends). It was a massive Christian convention, with big bands, lots of sessions to open up the Word, and some great night sessions with seminars.

The other camp was one just for my youth group of that time about 150-180 kids. We went to a conference centre near the main beach area of Sydney and spent about 5 days deep in God's Word, with some great social nights. Defiantely the highlight of each year at highschool was this camp, bar none.

Now in university, I'm looking forward to the Christian group's mid-year conference, which is similar to the second camp I mentioned.

I love these camps. They provide an excellent opportunity to really focus on God's Word in a community of believers for longer than an hour or two on a Sunday. The only bad thing is dealing with post-camp blues.

I went to a Christian camp once, way out in Arizona, once. Really enjoyed it. I remember some kids actually getting saved while I was there, too. And they had horses--weren't able to ride any that year, though.
I only got to go once. It was due to the courtesy of a family friend that I was able to go at all.

im not a fan of a lot of camps because mostly the kids have no desire to do anything Christ like at all.

inface younglife if any of you know what that is, at my school is full of weed sex and alcohol nothing christian about it

Camps are only as good ad the servants leading them. True of most things Christian. Great thing for you teens is that you can grow up to lead these if you want to see them get better.
