Friends, Christians do have more in common than what divides them.
They all believe in the Ten Commandments and try to live by them.
They all believe in praying the Lord's prayer.
They all believe the Virgin Mary is blessed of God. Most of them believe she is ever virgin.
They all believe in baptizing people, they just do it in different ways.
They all believe in receiving communion, they just do it in different ways.
They differ significantly from each other in some points of the Holy Trinity teaching, but they all agree there is one God Father Son and Holy Spirit, Three persons in one God.
They all hold to at least 2 sacraments, and the majority hold to as many as 7 sacraments.
They all believe Jesus is true God and true man.
What more be said?
If I am becoming too polemical, I apologize.
I do not apologize for saying anything that is true. I do not say the whole truth, and nothing but truth. "We know in part, and we say in part", as the Bible reminds us. We cannot any of us teach all of the whole Bible in this limited forum. Nor is it necessary for any of us to try to do that. The Spirit will lead all of us into all truth (John 16:13), but if we sometimes DISAGREE with each other, let us REMAIN CIVIL, THANK YOU.
With some regrets if my words are becoming too much for good people like francisdesales, etc. In Erie PA Scott R. Harrington
Forgive me, I am not trying to start fights with anyone.
I just don't want to accept error, that's all.

I can agree with most expect the quote above. I would say 99.9% of catholics believe she was "ever virgin". 99% or protestants don`t. But that`s not worth arguing over. There are far more important aspects of our faith than whether Mary consummated her marriage or not. I think if Christians get hung up on this rather than the true heart of our faith then we`ve all missed the mark.

What's a sacrament? :confused

A unique experience of the Risen Lord in a liturgical context instituted by Jesus. It is uses visible signs that point to invisible graces. Thus, we use water during baptism, since that sign points to the invisible grace of being spiritually washed and cleansed.
