I was on a thread and the op made a statement then the second post was a quote from some one else but they had not posted to the thread, the quote was in one of those expandable windows. When I clicked inside the window on or about an arrow facing up it said I did not have permission. I guess I have more than one question
how does one get quoted on second post of a thread if the quote was not in the first post (op) of the thread.
And why would I not be able to open a quote in an expandable window.
 
Can you give a link to the thread? If the quote was from another thread, maybe it was quoted from one of the more restricted areas of the site, such as the science forum or the locker rooms. I don't know how possible that is, but it's a guess.
 
I notice that too.
I don't know the answer but I wonder.
Is it from a previous thread?
Was it quoted and answered and then deleted for some reason?

Looks like that post that was quoted had been deleted at some point, which is why the permissions issue.
 
Our good buddy Rollo Tamasi gets board and retrieves old threads that have been inactive for a while... that OP is from oct of 2014..
