I don't think members of Antifa consider themselves to be bad, which I find perplexing. They don't oppose others on the basis of "sin," or even on the individual in question, but on their own opinion of who they are. Usually that's misplaced and they don't get to fight who they would really like to oppose.
That is similar to the point that Solzhenitsyn made.
They are happy to use violence against people who do not embrace their socialist/communist ideology. The communist ideology provides them with the belief that justifies violence and even murder of those who oppose them or even those who do not join them.
John's comment points out to me that this sounds very similar to the Inquisition, which I hadn't considered before.
The inquisition was a picnic compared to the actions of Lenin, Stalin's and most other Soviet leaders.
The Communists in Russia and then the USSR enslaved tens of millions of people who had committed no crime. Between 1918 and 1960, tens of millions of people were executed, starved and worked to death in the more than 250 slave labor camps of the USSR.
By comparison, During the 350 years of the Spanish Inquisition, between 3,000-5,000 people were sentenced to death (about 1 per month).

Antifas is dominated by the same mindset as were the Soviet authorities who murdered some 60 to 80 million of their citizens without trials. A simple accusation was sufficient to be sentenced to execution or 10 to 25 years in a slave labor camp.
That is why an "Ethics Professor" in Berkeley, California could put on an Antifas disguise and beat seven people with a bicycle lock for the "crime" of holding an opposing view and feel that he was doing a good work of liberating the oppressed people.

This kind of behavior on the part of Antifas is exactly what coincided with the rise of communism under Lenin around 1917 and with the rise of Hitler in the 1930. Both examples of mob thuggery were carried out by people devoted to the ideology of Communism (world socialism) and Nazism (notional socialism). Antifas' thuggery is another iteration of the same precursor to revolution. Their goal is the destruction of capitalism and its replacement with communism.
Their dedication to the ideology justifies any action, including riot, mayhem, beatings and murder, as was demonstrated by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn's history of communist Russia/USSR related in The Gulag Archipelago.
We should be very concerned.
