Crapware: Why manufacturers install it, what you can do about it, and why it's not going to go away
Summary:If you've ever bought a Windows PC or Android smartphone or tablet from one of the big name vendors then chances are that you are familiar - perhaps even intimately familiar if you've ever tried removing it - with crapware.

That's the key. Anything commercialized will be loaded with ads like TV .... "brought to you by...." Microsoft takes the hit the hardest since the operating system is a resource hog to begin with, so it's almost like you need a "tune up" from day one. Android is commercialized Linux as I call it and isn't as bad, but to avoid that you can download it for free like I did for my Cubox. It does not have any problems that this article mentions, and Android, like Linux, is pretty much malware and problem free. However, most people want their stuff handed to them on a silver platter and going out of the box, so then you'll have this. And even with Microsoft, back in the days that I used such a dreadful operating system, I would build my computers and then load an OEM version on the machine --- no crapware in that, just a stripped-down basic version of MS. Unfortunately, MS tends to pick up crapware all by itself without your knowledge or permission as time goes on (unlike Android) so I still would not recommend to even load MS that way.
