24 or 25 Cubans were spotted early Monday morning on Beer Can Island. A tiny island near Longboat Key, in Manatee County.(On the edge of Tampa Bay) They were transported to Tampa, where they are being questioned by authorities. The boat that transported them has not yet been found.
It is rare for immigrants to come ashore this far north. According to the 'Wet foot, dry foot' rule, these immigrants will be allowed to stay.
Please pray for these people as they begin a new life in this nation. Also please pray for Cuba and the unrest that seems to be developing due to Castro's health, as more and more attempts to make it from Cuba to America are made.
