I see a lot more of it being obsessed about on the far right. There is a form of OCD which is associated with a fear of becoming homosexual...

Some of the violence against homosexuals is likely based on this pathology. Apparently, people with it, generally don't seek help, for the obvious reasons. So it's not clear how widespread it is.

While conceptualizing sexual obsessions, it is important to recognize that people with sexual obsessions find their thoughts immoral and do not wish to act them out. They are different from fantasies, as the obsessions are unpleasant and provoke guilt rather than being enjoyable [5,6]. The person in HOCD is not able to stop thinking about same-sex relationships, and the thoughts are severely distressing to him/her.
