We have, and it's worse than that, at least here in the States. We now have a society driven by mob vengeance. During the French Revolution the leftist mobs were manipulated on a daily basis by angry voices identifying new targets to be dragged off to the guillotine. Today the left is no longer satisfied to disagree, Now, in like manner, every day the left gives us a new scapegoat to be demonized, personally destroyed, made a target for bankruptcy and destruction of their careers. And, in the case of police, the guillotine is not far away.

Sounds like you understand René Girard.

I see something different actually. Not that PC isn't getting out of control. But that no one who is acting with PC on their mind, actually think of it as PC. Everyone now a days seems to be against PC. But to that degree those who act in a way to promote a venue for political correctness, usually also say they are against PC, and don't recoginize that they are promoting a political correctness stent not long ago.

To me I see plight against "Political correctness" as simular as the search for "open mindedness." It's simular because those who accuse other of not being open seem to only apply the term to mean agree with that person, while at the same time being largely unopened to opposing views themself. Thus making the term void of what it should mean, and being a label to justify one's view, no matter what the view is. PC is on the opposite spectrum of the same dynamic. When a person says another is being PC, they're vilifying the other's stance to be oppressive against their view, regardless whether it was or wasn't. Regardless even if the person who is against PC thinks it's justified and not PC in other instances. In the instances that favor their own perspectives.

To me I see the term PC as more of a fraud then anything else. At least based on the context that it's usually used in. Sorry, just my honest (possibly blunt) opinion.

Agreed. In short, PC is a weapon.

Less then a weapon, but not by much, I think it's more or less a lie and a fraud. To fight against or fight for PC is in it's own way a means of continuing the pull and hold PC drama has on many people. Fight against what people say, or for what people say. And leave the term PC out of the mess entirely. That's my view.

I don't say,"Happy Winter festival ".
I say " Merry Christmas".

I don't say, "Happy Spring".
I say " Happy Easter "

Now if by chance I happen to offend a Jewish person I simply wish them a Happy Hanukkah and go on.

And if I offend an atheist I think "glad you are" and keep silent while walking away.

We are who we are. I don't apologize for being me and don't expect someone to apologize for being themselves either.

I say "Merry Christmas" and "Happy Easter" and if by chance a Jew or atheist is offended by that, I would still wish him/her a Merry Christmas or Happy Easter.
