Divorce?

Is divorce ok? I’m married but I feel like it is very toxic and I feel very unworthy and unwanted and I’m not really sure what to do. A friend of mine from church has been telling me that I don’t need to stay in the marriage because it could lead me back into the addiction God lead me out of.

The real issue has to do with remarriage. God has called us to peace.

Marriage does not work unless God is a part of it. So you have to pray, pray and them pray some more. We are told that all things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to His purpose.

Is divorce ok?

I have read what everyone everywhere says about this. I think the question has more to do with remarriage. Often if the first marriage is bad the second one is even worse. So people need to be careful.

1 Corinthians 7:27 – "Are you bound to a wife? Do not seek to be released. Are you released from a wife? Do not seek a wife."

Jesus acknowledges that Moses permitted divorce due to the hardness of people's hearts, but that it was not God's original design. Jesus states that divorce followed by remarriage—except in cases of sexual immorality—is considered adultery (Matthew 19:9).
