I would think that the story did not touch all the miracles Jesus done as a child after all He was born of the Spirit and not by sex. Reasons many books were not in the bible it did not fit their religion and how they would rule the people under it. No different then today if one says the truth about some scriptures many can't see because many books of study were not included.

I've read some of those apocryphal texts about Jesus' childhood, and they read like fan fiction to me. Not inspired at all
