Hi guys. I'm curious if anyone knows the criteria by which our terrifying ICE folks are using to pick up people to deport?
I read a story the other day that a man in his 70's was picked up for deportation who had lived here in the states for over 60 years. Had worked honestly and raised a family in which 3 of his sons served honorably in the U.S. Marines. Their claim to his being a criminal was that in the mid 1980's he had a charge of possession of marijuana.
Really? As a nation we are ok with throwing such a person out? And there really doesn't seem to be an end to such accounts. Mr. Garcia Abrego doesn't really seem to have been involved with any gang activity and had also lived a life that is certainly on par with most born and bred Americans. But the powers that be are now doing absolutely everything they can to apparently make up charges against him so that they will be seen as having been right to ruin his families and his own life by flying him to some Hades prison in El Salvador. Are we, as christians and believers in a God who loves mercy more than sacrifice really on board with these activities?
How many of those participating on this site really believe that this is what God would ask of us? Just curious. To me, it looks more like the pogroms of Nazi Germany or N. Korea. And really, if the administration really wants to make our national monuments more in line with current American beliefs, why haven't we taken that sign off of the Statue of Liberty?
