I think fear has an actual voice. It's a spirit, the spirit of fear. Paul references it in 2 Timothy 1:7

7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.../

In fact, the way he says it, he makes it sound like there's many spirits of fear. We all have voices in our head. We talk to ourselves. There's probably three voices involved. Our own voice and thoughts, the Holy Spirit's voice, and the enemy's voice. Personally I don't think it's the enemy as much as people think it is, but our own deceitful heart Jerimiah 17:9-10

“The heart is deceitful above all things,
And desperately wicked;
Who can know it?
10 I, the Lord, search the heart,
I test the mind,
Even to give every man according to his ways,
According to the fruit of his doings.../

But that's actually a topic for another thread. This ones about the voice of doom and gloom, the voice of the spirit of fear. He just loves to jump in there and whisper, oh don't do that or it'll all fall apart and bad things will happen. Uh-oh, what to do? I know I've said this before, but it bears repeating. We go by the Word of God. What He says in His Word, are words to live by. When He repeats something in scripture, it means that it's important, that He wants us to take note and learn that. The phrase that is the most often repeated phrase in the entire bible, is...do not be afraid, do not fear, fear not...you get the picture. Plus, we have authority over spirits, so we can just tell the spirit of fear to shut up and go.

That's awesome. We don't have to fear anything on this earth. Next time you get afraid of something...tell him to shut up in the name of Jesus, lol.

The spirit of fear is what is being cast into the hearts of many people. I wonder why that is, and how, and what causes it. I think I know.

Scripture states, "There is no fear in love: but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear has torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love." 1 John 4:18
As you have stated; 2 Timothy 1:7 states that God has not given the spirit of fear. I don't fear what man can do to me because I know that I have a better place waiting that Christ has prepared for me.

I know too. It's the television. It's entertaining to get scared (not). Everything is geared towards, oh you better be scared. You better fear those bad guys crime is up, you better fear those COPS or 6 of them will jump up and down on you too, uh-oh better fear the weather a flood or tornado is nothing to mess around with, if that's not enough here come the zombies. Oh, and the alien invasion, they're getting us ready for that. Better hug the government to be safe...

Dwelling on bad stuff is always wrong and leads to fear. Fear comes and what if what if...It doesn't matter. These things must be for now. There's no reason to not walk out onto the field with Goliath. We may not know if it's a day that God wants a martyr, or if it's a day He wants to show His power. Either way it's win/win. To die is to gain and to live is prolly even better because God's power being shown will add to His glory and harvest.

Exactly, Brother. The only prep people need to do is to prep our relationship with our Lord. Stock up on oil my Brothers and Sisters...

I heard a man put it in a real nice way today, lol.

He says that fear is

False
Evidence
Appearing
Real

That's pretty good!
