I think fear has an actual voice. It's a spirit, the spirit of fear. Paul references it in 2 Timothy 1:7
7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.../
In fact, the way he says it, he makes it sound like there's many spirits of fear. We all have voices in our head. We talk to ourselves. There's probably three voices involved. Our own voice and thoughts, the Holy Spirit's voice, and the enemy's voice. Personally I don't think it's the enemy as much as people think it is, but our own deceitful heart Jerimiah 17:9-10
“The heart is deceitful above all things,
And desperately wicked;
Who can know it?
10 I, the Lord, search the heart,
I test the mind,
Even to give every man according to his ways,
According to the fruit of his doings.../
But that's actually a topic for another thread. This ones about the voice of doom and gloom, the voice of the spirit of fear. He just loves to jump in there and whisper, oh don't do that or it'll all fall apart and bad things will happen. Uh-oh, what to do? I know I've said this before, but it bears repeating. We go by the Word of God. What He says in His Word, are words to live by. When He repeats something in scripture, it means that it's important, that He wants us to take note and learn that. The phrase that is the most often repeated phrase in the entire bible, is...do not be afraid, do not fear, fear not...you get the picture. Plus, we have authority over spirits, so we can just tell the spirit of fear to shut up and go.
That's awesome. We don't have to fear anything on this earth. Next time you get afraid of something...tell him to shut up in the name of Jesus, lol.
