Brothers & sisters in Christ,

Would you please join me in not being ashamed of Jesus in the public arena?

I have written an article for On Line Opinion that was published today, titled: 'Cricket ball-tampering disease in all of us'. If you don't know of or follow our national game of cricket, I explain a brief amount in this article, but the point of the article is meant to expose the real reason for this sinful behaviour.

Already there are hostile, anti-Christian responses that had nothing whatsoever to do with the article's content.

As evangelical Christians, I encourage you to join in with 'Comments' that deal with the substance of what I wrote. It's a torrid time standing up for Christ in a secular society that couldn't give a hoot about Jesus.

Blessings in Christ,
Oz

Of course there are. The slightest suggestion that there might just really be a God who has revealed Himself in the Bible is enough to set off the demonic spirits who lead mankind into all evil.

Don't worry about it. It's just the devil getting upset that you've pinched him.

Jim,

Why don't you join me in pinching him back?

I didn't see the comments or where I could comment.
Do I have to register?

Yes, Jim, you do have to register a log on at: http://www.onlineopinion.com.au/profile/,

Then you'll see the 'Comments' and be able to participate. Make sure you check 'receive email notification'. If you like the article, you can use the 'Like' icon, Tweet and G+ at the top of the page.

I hope more from CFnet will participate in learning how to deal with secular antagonism.

The problem for me is that I don't speak Australian. I read through the article and the comments...and where the words were understandable...I didn't understand some of the expressions... OK...all the euphamisms and idioms of speech.
Other than knowing what a "Spoon" is...I'm rather reluctant in putting my 'mater feet' into the fray.
But from behind the scenes...I don't mind at all.

John,

What are the Aussie words in the Comments or the article that you don't understand? I'll try to interpret, using my Aussie urban dictionary from memory.

One of the comments was: 'Jesus, what a load of wank that was'. 'Wank' and 'wanker' are crude terms.

Surely you could comment on what one person stated:

'In fact, Christianity becomes a substitute inserted into the void where morals and principles should be.
Somehow you people seem to think you get to heaven because you believe Jesus 'existed' but care not for what 'he taught'.
Do unto others - morals and principles, and you don't need to even be a Christian to learn and have them.
Forgiveness can't be given freely, it must be earned.'
There's plenty of christianised fillet steak there to put on the BBQ to discover biblical truth.

How about picking up something I wrote in the article and pursuing it!

I urge you not to sit back, but to become engaged, even though the accent of the words has an unusual twang.

Even you used some expressions that I found confusing.
When in foreign countries I have learned to rely upon the interpreters...they are my lifeline to better understanding. Even when the person I'm speaking to understands some English.
Honduras, Slovakia, Israel, and Brazil... some things translate and others don't.

When speaking on behalf of God...I want to be very careful with what I say... always.

John,

To help me in my communication, would you please give some expressions from my article that you "found confusing"? I need to clear my language if I'm not using English for an international audience.
