A lot of people are saying that they received a drone for Christmas. There have been a lot of workshops set up to teach people how to use them safely. They are making them as small as a fly now.

They've been around for many years. "Drones" is just the new buzzword. They used to be called "radio controlled model aircraft" and ranged from small scale model airplanes, to planes with actual working miniature turbojet engines, to helicopters, and to things that looked like they came from outer space . I've built and flown a number of them over the last 30 years or so. They can be equipped with all sorts of electronic guidance and photographic or video equipment and some even have the ability to release model "weapons". The only thing new about "drones" is that we are now hearing about the military using them in combat. The real problem with the current trend of them becoming so widely known is that now the government is going to regulate the life out of the hobby so that only the rich will be able to enjoy it anymore.

Now your next door neighbor will have one. That is different from the past.

Here is mine, I have been to everybody on this boards house, I see Jason on his way home from work now.

How much does one of those cost (with the camera) and where can I get one online?

I think you can make them autonomous too. Like set them to fly in a pattern at a certain distance while you sit and watch the camera on your laptop.

Go online, there are cheaper ones.

Okay... That's a bit much for me, especially considering that after adding shipping and customs, that price would double by the time I got it.

I'd help, but I don't even make minimum wage right now.
