Eternal Life: Now
And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. John 17:3
Eternal Life is knowing God: know Him
Scriptures that utilize “know Him”.
Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.
1 John 2:3
He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 1 John 2:4
in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not
know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Thessalonians 1:8
To know Him, to be joined with Him as one spirit; to be joined to the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus
To be connected in relationship to Him, as a branch is connected to the vine from which it draws its sustaining life from.
Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. John 15:4-6
We must remain in Christ, to remain connected to the eternal life within Him.
