Following the prologue on this subject, there are various theological definitions and one is. " Eternal Security is that continuous operation of the Holy Spirit in the believer by which the work of divine grace that is begun in the heart, at the exact moment we believed the gospel, in the heart and brought to conclusion"
Eternal Security means that once a person has undergone the real experience of salvation, has undergone a regenerational experience, that person is totally unable to lose his salvation, either by committing a specific sin or ceasing to believe. That which keeps the believer safe and secure is the work of all 3 members of the Godhead and not by our works.It is often said and is true, that our works cannot save us, cannot keep us saved and cannot regain our salvation. Once a person has once and for all believed in the Person and work of YESHUA he is eternally secure.
Let us look at 10 principles of Eternal Security:
1. Salvation is not repeatable.
This fact is seen by the fact that often the verb " to be saved" is used by the Bible in the aorist tense. This tense emphasises a singular, unrepeatable, once and only act. This is found in John 3:14-15; 4:14-14 etc. Another tense used is a perfect tense and this emphasises that which occurred in the past abides to the present time and is continuous.There is not one single place in Scripture that states a person was saved; then lost his salvation; then regained it.
2 True salvation will produce works of righteousness.
A person who has been truly saved will provide evidence of this by works done to please the LORD based on the written word.Some may produce few works but these are genuine works of righteousness. There are several passages that explicitly state this and the following in Ephesians 2:8-10 is the most well-known " For it is by Grace have ye been saved through faith; and this not of yourselves, it is the gift of GOD;9 not of works , that no man should boast (glory) .10 For we are HIS workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which GOD afore prepared that we should walk in them".
The order is clear GOD through His grace saved us, the human condition being our faith.It is a free gift to the undeserving. In many passages it is stated we were saved before time eg 2 Timothy 1:9, but here even our works in this life for the LORD were preordained. Each one of us is appointed to influence the lives of others for good, both believers, and unbelievers.The works are evidence of salvation but are only possible after salvation.
There is far more in these 3 verses.
In this context, I must point out the meaning of apostasy. It is not failing to live up to the divine standard of the New Testament epistles but changing that divine standard.In churches today there is flagrant disobedience to the revealed commands, even in those fellowships where believers meet. For example, very few believing fellowships exercise any degree of biblical headship and depart from many of the basic doctrines, However, if a believing fellowship is firm on the creation account of Genesis 1 and the doctrine of salvation God can use them to a limited extent.
Once they get creation wrong and give in to the lie of evolution they have no hope.
No one who contradicts Genesis 1 can be a believer. The fruit of evolution incorporates many evils, including the murder of unborn children and same-sex relationships.
The world has so twisted the biblical attitude to sexual deviance. The world system, under Satan's control, states that such things are ok, and in fact encourage so much that is sin. All they are doing is telling people that which is wrong is right! That is the last thing these people need They need to know all sin separates us from our LORD and they need salvation. A homosexual who believes in YESHUA is saved because all sins are forgiven in the LORD.Sex between males and females outside of wedlock is fornication.No one cares more about his fellow man than a believer who desires to do the will of his Saviour.The world system encourages the sinner in his sin, even in murder ! Science has proved that a child is fully human on the first day of conception.
