Family.
Today me and the wife and our 3 daughters went to see Jack, our son and their brother at uni.
He went over two months ago. It was the first time we as family met together.
We are a close nit family.
My family experience as a child was shocking. I won't go into details but it was hard, irreligious and broken.
When I placed my faith in Jesus I prayed so hard not to carry over my experiences of my childhood and was determined to ensure that my family, my wife and my kids know the love of me their natural father and the love of God their ultimate father. Praise God they are believers.
Family life is hard at times. Some family's are loving and great, some family's are not. Our experiences of family life can determine our future.
If ones experience is negative in terms of being part of a family then it's difficult to be accepted as being part of a family.
My wife has a beautiful loving family. When we got married it took me about 4 years to feel accepted by my in-laws. It was only after 4 years that I could call them mum and dad. To realise that they accepted me as I was and is, warts and all.
On this forum we are family. Let's not forget that. We all have warts, we all interact. Some of us are broken people, we can interact based on experiences. BUT we are family. Let's continue to love each other, build each other up, check in with each other. That's family.
