I was working in the Adirondacks clearing brush and small trees from our property. Suddenly I tripped on something and went tumbling down into a ravine. Unable to control my fall, it flashed through my mind "Oh crap, this is going to hurt"

Yeah, it did hurt, my ribs bruised and my ankle twisted. I managed to drive back to Connecticut, take a shower, and get a nights sleep, judging myself adequately presentable to visit our urgent care facility the next day. The ribs are just bruised, the ankle fractured. So, I'm laid up for a few weeks. Feeling kind of old right now.

Ouch!

Sounds like it's going to hurt to just breathe for a while.

And where your going to lay up for a while... Look at it like a forced vacation.

Hope you got plenty of painkillers.

Yep, it hurts to breathe, and yep, I've got pain killers. Grateful I don't need surgery, just wearing a boot and taking it easy.

.
I'm also praying for you brother, as bruised ribs seem to be worse to me than broken ribs. There were times in my past I had to sleep with my arm stretched and belted to the head of the bed in order to tolerate the pain, and also make sure I didn't accidently put any pressure on them. The pain relievers available to me didn't seem to help at all, and time doesn't really pass that fast at all when you're having all that fun.

You are not getting old. :grumpy That kind of accident can happen to anyone.
Hope you feel better soon. Prayers for speedy recovery going up for you.

Now someday when they find your decomposing corpse and examine it on the show 'Bones' they will find all this evidence of 'remodeling' and postulate on the kind of life you led. :lol

Rest up, my brother. Laughter is the best medicine....okay, not so much for bruised ribs.
