Of course there is a margin of risk, I cannot deny that," Dr Canavero said.
"I made the announcement only when I was pretty sure I could do it."

Face transplants

The nation's first full face transplant patient Dallas Wiens poses for a photo after a news conference at McCormick Place in Chicago, Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013. Despite still visible facial scars from the March 2011 surgery, Wiens looks and sounds like a recovered man. Medical imaging shows new blood vessel networks have formed, connecting transplanted skin with the patients' facial tissue, a finding that may help improve future face transplant surgeries, doctors announced Wednesday.

That is so disgusting I cant even look *bleeeeeeeeeeeeeh* *barf* *shiver*

Check out the film TechnoCalypse, and you will see it has already been done with monkeys. Though the monkey died a week later I think and eventually rejected the head.

This is man attempting to play God.

As in the days of Noah. As in the 600-some days of a patriarch when people provoked the LORD to anger by mixing the fowls of the air and the beasts of the field as according to the extra biblical, biblically referenced (albeit uninspired) book of Jasher. (Book of the Upright).

It is amazing what a man that does not know or does not fully trust in God will do. This, like the heart transplants, is a case of sin sick people grasping. I have been advised to not eat gluten but to include certain foods into my diet and I will live longer, hogwash! Without gluten I can never have Cornbread and beans again as long as I live, pies, cakes, hot rolls and on and on.

When my heart veins plugged up I was instructed to never eat Liver, heart, tripe, chitlins, gizzards nor any other innards again, the very things I have enjoyed all my life but guess what? God has preserved me in spite of my doctors. Man must learn to live for God!

So Taylor heart transplants are sin ?

So Taylor heart transplants are sin ?
They can be and I suspect, most often, they are. When a person surrenders to God and follows His Son, Jesus, He determins when we live and when we go to Heaven.

From 1/1/'90, I have been homesick and have wished for God to punch my ticket. I worry about people that want to go to Heaven but not today. In my signature on all Christian Web Sites stands one statement, "Bond-servant." I am not my own! Yes, I am an adopted son of God, Almighty, but first I became His bond-servant.

Clinging to this life is direct disobedience of the Master. Jesus told us to let the dead bury the dead and to follow Him... and He is in Heaven until the Great Tribulation is finished. So the question of sin or not is in the answer of "Why?"

Who can resurrect your soul? A smart man can't/
But Christ willed to conduct a heart transplant/
I'm livin' proof of His spiritual maintanance/
I'm now revering His patience and fearing His greatness/

I agree with you. To cling to life at all cost seems very wrong to me. I am not an organ donor, and have intention of ever receiving an organ to stay alive.

If head transplant is a sin, so is any transplant and if any transplant is not a sin, someone tell me where the line should be drawn...specifically?

I'll take it a step further, should we be trying to cure any disease, if not, where is the line drawn? Jesus healed disease so, I assume it's not a sin, matter of fact, Jesus brought whole bodies back to life, at least one step further than this procedure may accomplish. And yes, that was miraculous but we can likely see where that would really creep someone out as well as this procedure but, so what?

This particular procedure is curing a disease with transplant, so why is head transplant any different for this 30yr old than a bone marrow transplant is for the dying 7 year old child?

Sounds freaky to me to, but in thinking why did it sound freaky, those were some questions I thought I should ask myself.

Let me tell you something, if they transplant a head and it works out, I am done, I would be floored for years to come. Now this doctor says that he has come to the conclusion that he can do it. Now that is a bold statement. To see Jethro or Jason's head on my body a white head on a black body.

Next time you're pulled over by the police, it'll be both because you have no business driving the Caddy AND your taillight was really out.

This is, truly, a matter between the man and his maker.
