Growing up in Boston, I always liked Big East teams.
I forget the big basketball names but they did have Jim Brown and Ernie Davis in football.
And they had an NBA team, the Syracuse Nationals.
They had Dolph Schayes, one of the all-time greats.
What happened to that team?
Where did they move to?

The Syracuse Nationals won their only NBA championship in 1955. They were moved in 1963 to Philadelphia and renamed the 76ers.

I love that you remember SU football from their glory years. Players like Jim Brown, Larry Csonka, Floyd Little, John Mackey, Art Monk, and more recently Marvin Harrison, Donovan Mcnabb, and Dwight Freeney.

I remember Ernie Davis "The Elmira Express" because I grew up in Elmira and followed his high school career at Elmira Free Academy, and his college career at Syracuse. He was the first black Heisman Trophy winner.

I remember Dwight Freeney even better because he went to school with my kids in Bloomfield CT, and I coached them all in Little League baseball.
