Goodbye poet.I pray that you will ask God into your heart.

Dear poetofparables, I really never got to really go into an in-depth exchange of ideas with you, and would have liked to since you said you were once a Christian. Circumstance, consequence, and the need to act upon the little faith we may have keep the blessings we could have just seemingly out of reach, and leave us just spinning our wheels it seems at times. Normally our resistance to God continues until we're coming to the end of our rope as it were, and finally turn to God for help.

I'm not sure where I heard something akin to this, but the man has lost everything including his health, and he asks his friend what he thinks he should do. and his friend tells him to pray. My God he exclaims; has it come to that? I'll be praying for you, and for God to make His very real presence known to you.

Don't forget this promise to all those that believe.. :wave

Hebrews 5:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

All the best and goodbye, time for me to leave.
Why? Has the Holy Spirit convicted you about something? It is better to allow God to deal with you now, and see what He has to say. But He will never compel. He will convict and convince. Scripture says "TODAY, if ye will hear His voice, harden not your heart..."

I'am in somewhat of an agreement with the above statement. http://biblehub.net/search.php?q=I+John+4:

Can't you stick around for no other reason than avoiding Hell? So Christians drive you buggy, still worth it to avoid eternal torment. Not the best reason, but still a good reason.

Hmm, you've convinced me to stay a little longer.

That does not compute will robinson. :)

What? No, your got it the wrong way around. Your supposed to say that statement when I return.

Why not compute? If you're not a Christian, you can't go to Heaven. The only other option is Hell.

You're OK going to Hell?

EDIT: OK, I read through your other posts and it looks like you ARE ok going to Hell. In which case I'm going to counsel you to reconsider your position. Hell is really awful. It really, really hurts. You think you're in pain now, I can tell you it's nothing compared to Hell. Once you're there, you can't change your mind and you will regret your decision for eternity. Don't do it. Just don't do it.

Looks like I added my edit just as you were typing your own response, but I'll just let my comments stand. Hell hurts too much. Go ahead and be intellectually shamed, we don't care. Hell. Hurts.

I think Malachi is implying that sometimes people will feel hard conviction, and I guess out of shock or intimidation may back away. Kinda like moses did.

And Moses said unto YAHWEH, O my YAHWEH, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue. And YAHWEH said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I, YAHWEH? Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say. Exodus 4:10-12

In essence it went like this:

Yah was like "Hey Moses. Yeah, I'm God. You know. The guy who knows everything. Like, even your potentials. Yeah, I'm choosing you to go speak to this pharaoh dude. He's kinda wack, but-"

Moses was like "woah, woah, woah... Yeah, God, I think you got the wrong number. I mean, me. When I talk. I probably sound like Kurt Cobain attempting to sing. I'm also pretty slow. Yesterday, I pushed on the "pull" side of the door. Thrice. In the same day. On the same door. And now I got this bruise. I don't think you know what you're talking about. Me. I should probably just go that-a-way. You definitely have no use of me."

Sometimes we want to back away from situations God puts in front of us.
