Nearly half a million dollars has been raised for a 68-year-old woman who was bullied to tears by school children on a bus.
Karen Klein, a school bus monitor in New York, was tormented by four 13-year-old boys, who hurled a series of insults at the grandmother.
The incident was captured on camera and posted to YouTube, where Max Sidorov from Toronto saw the exchange and set up an online fundraising page for the woman.
Sidorov said he was a victim of bullying himself as a young immigrant from Ukraine, and set up the page with the aim of raising $5,000 so Klein could take a holiday.
But on Friday morning, with nearly a month before the fundraising page closes, more than $450,000 had been donated to the woman.

"I felt deeply sad for Karen," said Sidorov, a 25-year-old nutritionist and graduate of York University.
"I had some issues with bullying myself when I was a young kid and had just come to Canada, so I know where she's coming from."
On Thursday, Sidorov said he hoped the money could allow Klein to stop working.

Oh my kids would have been perped walked over to her house and made to grovel for forgiveness. How shameful. How sad.

This story made me so angry. I feel so bad for the women. I'm so touched and glad to hear that so many have pitched in money to help her. Sometimes this is enough to make me have a little hope in humanity again.

This woman did not deserve the treatment she received. She was doing a job as bus monitor because of previous problems on school buses in the district.

Further, and more troubling: this woman's situation was an example of 'mob mentality'. One person got it started...didn't get into trouble... one by one, others joined in to torment, bully this woman.

Unfortunately, this sort of behaviour is becoming more typical. And it isn't just the middle school crowd. Recently, at a Big Ten university near me, the University police were called to the library because of the behaviour of an older man. As the officers were quietly escorting the man from the library, a college student vocally berated the officers for being 'so cruel' to the man, just because he looked to be homeless. An officer explained the woman didn't understand what the situation was and to please return to what she had been doing.

Her voice grew louder, complaining about police brutality; it didn't take long for several others to join her. Foul names and other accusations were being hurled at the officers, who were only doing the job they had been called in to do.

Finally, one of the pair of officers paused in his steps and told the crowd of now 20 students: "This man was viewing porn on a laptop and j*rking off. Would you feel better - and safer - if we returned him back to that table, close to where you were sitting?"

Of course, the students quieted immediately. However, they were on the verge of mob mentality. Until people are made to take responsibility for their individual actions, mob mentality will continue to grow in frequency and intensity.

This is another triumph for the cultural marxists on the Left who have worked dilligently to destroy any and all morality from our society. We cannot teach "morals" you know because it may offend someone! Gasp!

This is the result of their successful efforts.

They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Although they knnow God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them. Romans 1:29-32 NIV

Was there no one on the bus that could step in????
I'd be in jail now if I were there.

this is horrible. im never rude to the elderly my mom always said what if it was your grandmother?

my Grandmother is full Japanese and her English isnt that great at all. we call her obachan (Japanese for Grandmother) and she is the sweetest woman in the world. if anyone was to say anything rude to her its not likely she would understand it but i would and i would go into a fit of rage. i love her a lot and if anyone every disrespected her im not sure they would live to tell.
its sickening the generation below me and people in my own have no respect for anyone its all about themselves.
